I am a Homeschooling SAHM. I have two wonderful children who are growing up too fast and a very patient husband. This blog is being set up to keep an account of my good and bad days. It is to inspire and to keep me inspired. It is a way to show family and friends the joy and reality of HOMESCHOOL.

School At the Beach
The weather was beautiful today! Homeschooling indoors was definitely out. Outside that is. We took a blanket and our book to a park by the water. We read for a while, but the temperature outside was a warm 81 degrees. With the sun beating down on us, we got pretty hot. No I didn't take pictures. We did get to walk by the water so Brandon could pick up some shells. His new venture is making art out of shells. He was pretty excited when he found a shell that was intact and partially open. We almost brought it home. It seemed all dried out. He placed it in the water to be sure and yes, it did close. Obviously it was alive, so he put it back in the water. After walking the beach a couple of times, we decided to go home and get a long drink of water. Tomorrow will be cooler. Maybe we will take a trip to the library. No other school allows this kind of freedom or this type of motivation.

Wow!! How nice to be able to do schooling at the beach! Reminds me of home on Vancouver Island, BC. I am going back there this summer, and you can bet we will be going to the beach a LOT! I really miss it...even more as I get old, I mean older ;-) hehehe!
Sometimes the best schooling (sshh, dont tell the kids)/learning can be done on the spur of the moment, just being outside among Jehovah's creations!
I am really looking forward to being ABLE TO go outside again! It is just too cold! This week the wind chill got down to -53'C in spots near our place!
Enjoy your warm weather!! Have a nice day on me, ok?
Your Sister, Carolyn @};-
Outside would have been a nice idea but we did the taste testing thing. It is already getting darker and cloudier. That cold air is coming. Carolyn keeps blowing it our direction. hehehe We will have to do a school day by the water. Sounds like lots of fun.
now i like the fact that i can listen to the music and look at the comments at the same time...
Yes, hubbie, hehehe, I like it this way too.
Oh Nancy, does this mean I have to watch what I say now. HE might be reading. hehehe
